The Promise of God’s Protection

Psalm 91:1 The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!”

God cares for and directs all things in the universe in all His wisdom and love. The fact that He is in complete control makes a grave for despair. My God is the ruler of destiny and holds in His power the issues of my life. I am not a lost ship upon the ocean of fate but am steered by infinite wisdom toward my desired haven.
Give me the sunshine of heaven in my soul, and I will defy the storms of the earth.

Psalm 91:14-16 Because he has focused his love on Me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him. I will satisfy him with long life and show him my deliverance.

Whatever happens, nothing will hurt the believer; though trouble and affliction are inevitable, they are not for our harm but for our good. Those who know God will set their love upon Him. Call on Him in prayer without ceasing. He promises that He will deliver the believer out of trouble and, in the meantime, be with him in his trials. He will manage all your worldly concerns, and preserve your life on earth, so long as it is good for you.

Dwell in the “shadow of the Almighty” and find complete eternal rest and safety, no matter what you face in the present or the future.
